For logistical reasons, this week’s newsletter was going to be delayed to the point where it didn’t make sense to put it out without rewriting the entire thing. As such, we’ve decided to take a pause for this week, but because we’re not monsters we wanted to leave you with the last of Brad’s steaming picks in its current format.

We will be back next week with a slightly revamped look and feel for the newsletter, along with our promised on-going coverage of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Without further delay, here now, Brad’s Smash or Pass streaming picks:

Wednesday at 15:00 ET
Soccer - USL Championship: Oakland Roots v. Birmingham Legion
Are you all in on soccer right now, but annoyed that you have to wait an entire hour between World Cup matches? We’ve got your solution right here as there we have a midday USL match being held at the beautiful(?) Oakland Coliseum. Since none of the World Cup matches are being played in the Bay Area today, I’m sure there will be a good amount of drunk foreigners in the crowd (this is not a complaint!).

Thursday at 20:30 ET
Cricket - Major League Cricket: Texas Super Kings v. Seattle Orcas
Buckle up folks, because it is time for the next Major League Cricket season! I always enjoy watching this league and the overlap with the FIFA World Cup might even attract some foreign fans. I will personally need to set up a second TV so that I can watch both.

Friday at 18:00 ET
Lacrosse - Premier Lacrosse League: New York Atlas v. Boston Cannons
With a day filled with random and obscure sports, this was a tough pick - however after a weekend off for the PLL and the New York-Boston rivalry being played at Hofstra University, the Ivy League of Long Island - lacrosse gets the nod.

Saturday at 15:00 ET
Soccer - Segunda Division Promotion Final Leg 2: Almeria v. Malaga
Another example of filling the gap between World Cup matches with other soccer leagues. This one actually has a bit more on the line as the winner wins promotion to Spain’s top division next season. After a scoreless first leg, both teams have everything to play for!

Sunday at 07:00 ET
Darts - PDC European Tour: Slovak Darts Open
The final day of the Slovak Darts Open begins with the Round of 16 in the early session, before the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final in the later session (starting at approximately 13:00 ET). This is a new stop for the Euro Tour, so it will be great to see how the crowd looks - hopefully without anyone whistling.

Monday at 03:00 ET
Basketball - New Zealand NBL: Hawke’s Bay Hawks v. Southland Sharks
Basketball at an ungodly hour to start off your week! In a match-up of “Worst versus First”, the uncreatively named (and last place), Hawke’s Bay Hawks, host the (co-first place) Southland Sharks. We are fully into the back half of the regular season, so Southland will really be giving it their all, while Hawke’s Bay will also be playing basketball, I guess.

Tuesday at 18:30 ET
Baseball - NECBL: Vermont Mountaineers v. Martha’s Vineyard Sharks
In a similar fashion to the Cape Cod Baseball League, the New England Collegiate Baseball League is a wood bat summer league for current college players. These leagues usually provide some historic and scenic stadiums, so go put on your boatshoes and watch the potential stars of tomorrow.
